The World Is Swell. And How!

Consistency

I defended Obama's Special Olympics joke. So let me be clear what offended me about his humorous dismissal of the marijuana issue in his town hall was not his suggesting that the internet is a community of stoners. It was a joke, albeit not a funny one, but okay, you're the handsome charming dude. I truly believe nothing is off limits in comedy so I don't completely agree with retired Seattle Police Chief Norm Stamper's piece from Huff Post. But I do think it's significant that the bullying of Obama by the right has been very effective in coloring his positions (or at least his responses) with language to assuage those who might fill their conservative talk shows with sound and video of him "fucking up."

I voted for Hillz in the primary. Probably wouldn't have if California voted after her team proved to be such a mess. But I remember my friend saying something to me about the Clintons to the effect of "do you really want to spar with the right for the next 4 or 8 years." In other words, Obama is a uniter, a post-partisan fucking visionary (knights of the magical light) and he will guide America into the future. Problem is some folks see an olive branch and wipe their asses with the leaves. Once the symbolic extension of it is made for posterity's sake, it's time to return to your corner and knuckle up. Clinton-style. I think Obama is absolutely a better face for those politics but I wish he would stop being such a pussy and man the fuck up.

And getting back to medical marijuana, check out this nice piece from the Atlantic (monthly) about how deeply Washington and Wall Street are intertwined ("intertwined" maspuuuuuto). you make the connection, it's saturday night and i'm sick of being upset about all this.
