I like Arianna Huffington's post today about the steps Obama should take to keep from blowing it with his middle of the road strategy. It seems to me that her assumption is that he is straying from his true self while my assumption is that he's becoming his true self. Or, put another way, she would say the Obama of last year was the real Obama and this one is pandering for conservative votes in the national election whereas I would say this is the real Obama and the one we saw last year was simply pandering for progressive votes in the primary. But remember, these are just assumptions. Obama could certainly do some things to make me change my mind or say that I was wrong in assuming x, y, or z. Ultimately I don't know. And neither do you. If you fancy yourself 'involved in politics' you likely are scared shitless about 'not knowing' and basically assert the opinion of the month or the spin of the month like its gospel. People at every point on the spectrum are guilty of this but let me for a moment focus on the Obamanators. If only they were leaders like he could be and not followers like he's lately proving to be, maybe, just maybe they would put some pressure on him now and show me how wrong I am to assume he was anything but a progressive struggling to find the best way to get progressive principles in the White House.

This has precious little to do with anything, but I want to be the meat of a naked Arianna Huffington / Maureen Dowd sandwich.
While you could do some nasty shit to those old broads, you'd have to suffer through arianna's accent and maureen's adverbs. Tough call.
Dude, I'd stick my mouth in between Maureen's adverbs and start the motor.
are you nuts? those ladies would suck the life out of you pronto
That's the general idea, my dear.
